約1年ぶりに訪ねたヨーテボリで、なんと街中に回転ずしを発見！！
What a surprise! I found a sushi-go-round restaurant in Göteborg!!
店名は「Haiku」。店のウィンドウにはこんな貼り紙が。
“ついにヨーテボリ初の回転ずしレストランオープン！どうぞお試しあれ！”
The restaurant name is “Haiku” and they put the welcome words in the window.
” Now have we finally opened the city’s first restaurant with going round sushi belt! Welcome and Try it!!”
スタッフは中国の方でしたが、日本人の板前もいるとの噂を耳にしました。地元スウェーデン人の友達によると、ネット上の評価は現在ヨーテボリNO.1だそうです。日本人の私からみると疑問でしたが、「アバンチュール」な寿しが若者に人気だとか。
I had a chat with Chinese shop keeper but I heard there is also a Japanese sushi chef too. According to my Göteborgs friend, the shop has the best reputation in Göteborg. I am a bit suspicious as a Japanese but “Aventure” style might be popular especially among young people.
週末は留学中に出会った友達と久々に再会し、束の間の楽しい休暇を過ごしました。
It was a great weekend to meet some friends and found a funny tip in Göteborg.
先週より3週間のスウェーデン視察＆旅行に来ています。3月末に来日したスウェーデン自然学校の訪問が主な目的です。
I’ve been in Sweden from last week for my own study visit and private trip. The main purpose is to visit the teachers in Swedish Nature School(Naturskolan) who came to visit Japan last March.
今回はデンマークからフェリーでスウェーデン入りしました。デンマークのヘルシンゴア(Helsingør)からスウェーデンのヘルシンボリ（Helsingborg）までは約20分。
This time, I came into Sweden by Ferry from Helsingor, Denmark to Helsingborg. It takes about only 20 minutes, pretty close.
最初の訪問地はスウェーデン西海岸のハルムスタド（Halmstad)。ハルムスタドでは自然学校の先生であるイレーン・ベリュマンさんの案内で2つの幼稚園と1つの小学校を訪ねました。小学校はグリーンフラッグという学校版環境認証制度を取得しており、2つの幼稚園も取得に向けた活動を検討中です。
During my stay in Halmstad, a city located in the west coast of Sweden, I have visited two preschools and an elementary school. The elementary school got a school environmental certification called “Green Flag”. Two preschools also are planning to get the same certification in the future.
ハルムスタド自然学校は野外教育と同時にこのグリーンフラッグプロジェクトも推進しており、イレーンは来日の際にグリーンフラッグ取得を目指す日本の小学校でハルムスタッドの活動を紹介しました。
Halmstad Nature School is promoting not only outdoor education but also “Green flag” project in the city. Irene actually talked about the project at a Japanese elementary school which is trying to become a first green flag school in the future.
ハルムスタッドで訪ねた小学校と幼稚園では、いずれも先生、保護者、子どもが参加し、「民主的」なプロセスでグリーンフラッグの活動を進めています。スウェーデンの社会形成は民主的な意思決定に基づくといわれますが、それは政治の話だけではなく、このような身近な生活の意思決定の場面にも根付いています。
この民主的意思決定プロセスはサステイナブルな社会作りの根幹だと考えられます。様々な場面における日本の意思決定プロセスは果たして民主的であるといえるでしょうか。
At the schools which I visited in Halmstad, teachers, parents and pupils are participated in the process of Green Flag project in a democratic way. It’s often said that Swedish society is structured by the democratic decision making and we can see the feather in their daily life such as school meetings. I believe that democratic process is the fundamental value of sustainable society. How about Japanese decision making process?

「野外を教室に」-このメッセージを届けるために3月下旬から4月始めまで「スウェーデン自然学校来日プロジェクト」が実施され、自然学校の4名の先生＋団長1名の5名が日本各地で講演や視察を行いました。
“Outdoor as a classroom”- We had a “Visit Japan project of Swedish nature school(Naturskolan)” from 22nd of March to 2nd of April. 4 nature school teachers and one environmental consulutant, a leader of the tour came to Japan and traveled around to give lecture and study visit.

日本人がこのメッセージを受け取ると、遠方の森や自然へ出かけて行われる野外教室や林間学校を思い浮かべるかもしれません。少なくとも東京の都会育ちである私は、数年前に初めて自然学校と聞いた時そのような印象を受けました。これに対してスウェーデン自然学校は、校庭や学校近くの公園など少しでも自然のある場所を教室として活用する学び、そして教育実践を大切にしています。
A lot of Japanese people might image outdoor education in the forest far from town or even school excursion when we hear the message “outdoor as a classroom”. At least I got such kind of impression when I heard of it first time several years ago. On the contrary, they think it’s important to use nature and outdoor very close to our daily life, for example school yards or parks.
今回のツアーでは、各地で様々な出会いと体験に恵まれました。来日してくれた自然学校の先生方、ご協力いただいた皆さん、どうもありがとうございました。
It was a fantastic opportunity to meet many interesting and enthusiastic people and experience though the trip with nature school teachers.

初めてのラジオ収録。ラジオ日本の「ラジカントロプス2.0」という番組でテーマは“サステイナビリティとスウェーデン”。スウェーデンでの2年間の滞在を通じて得た知見を多くの皆さんに伝える素敵なチャンスをいただきました。
Radio recording, first time in my life. The theme is “Sustainability and Sweden”. I got a great chance to share my knowledge and experiences with listeners.
アイスランドの火山噴火の影響により昨日帰国の機会を逃したスウェーデンの友達、マリー・ルイズも飛び入り参加。
My best Göteborg friend, Marie-Louise could jump in the show because she is staying extra weeks in Tokyo thanks to (?) volcano eruption in Iceland.
OAは5月下旬から6月上旬とのことなので内容は乞うご期待です。
収録を終えた感想は、“ラジオはトークで勝負”。サステイナビリティについてわかりやすく説明することの難しさを実感しました。初めての収録で緊張もあり、言葉が曖昧かつ詰まってしまうなど、リスナーのみなさんには聞きづらいトークになったのではと反省しています。それでも、司会担当のラジオ日本の福田プロデューサーのスムーズでテンポの良い進行のおかげで、楽しく話すことができました。
The show will be On Air in the end of May or beginning of June. You can listen from internet or podcast.
“Good radio show needs good talk.” That’s what I’ve learned today through my imperfect talk. A producer of Radio Nippon, Fukuda-san guided me very smoothly with a good tempo and it helped me a lot. Thank you so much, Fukuda-san.

Hi everyone! I am Akiko Sasaki(Akko), a sustainability consultant between Japan and Sweden. My work is based in Tokyo and Sweden and I am working as a planner and manager for different kinds of projects and events mainly related to sustainability issues. I am also working as a translator, interpreter(Japanese-English) and researcher sometimes.
